The other requirements may be able to be bent or broken under the right circumstances, but this one is paramount. We are much more interested in quality than quantity. Everybody’s seen those sites that have dozens or even hundreds of different artists' work on display. You click in looking for some artistic enlightenment, wade through a few galleries of artists who couldn’t even draw flies, then leave. Sure, there are hidden gems, but there’s just too much flotsam to wade through. We’re not one of those sites. We won’t put up a submissions link and publish everything that’s sent to us. We won’t publish anything that’s less than professional. We would much rather house 6 quality artists than 100 crappy ones. MERCHANDISING Let’s talk motivation here. We all want our art to be seen by the highest number of people possible and we want those adoring fans to tell us how much they love us, but let’s be honest -- the main reason we’re in this for is money. Our goal at Bucket of Lizards Creative Studios is to have our staff and each one of our Partnering Artists making a living off of doing what we love. How do we do that? We put out quality products and market the crap out of them! Every Partnering Artist at BucketofLizards.com will have their own merchandise. Some things (like original art) will be sold directly through BucketofLizards.com. Other things (t-shirts, prints, etc.) will be sold through partnering companies like CafePress.com. EXCLUSIVITY The exclusivity clause in our contract is very open. All we ask is that you give us exclusive rights to some of your works only in markets in which we have a presence. You are 100% free to sell your work and obtain commissions in markets in which we have no presence. When you are accepted as a Partnering Artist, you will give us a list of "Protected Works". These works are submitted to us only for display in your gallery. We will not sell them or use them in any other way. You are also free to market works you do not submit to us in any way you see fit. DECENCY The image we’re trying to project is that of "good, clean fun". We don’t want to be known either for blood-drenched, violent work or for sugar-coated work made expressly for hanging in a nursery. We want to focus on professional-level artwork that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. We will absolutely not post any artwork that is explicitly sexual, includes graphic violence, or is otherwise in bad taste. That does not mean that we will not post work that includes tasteful, artistic nudity. However anything that is not 100% acceptable to an all-ages audience (come on, pre-teen boys even giggle at Renaissance nudes) will be subject to a decency disclaimer. COPYRIGHT You must be the exclusive copyright owner of any and all works you submit to be sold on BucketofLizards.com. Works involving other artists or properties you do not own the copyright to may be submitted for display only, along with appropriate copyright information. The only exception to this is if all artists involved in a work are currently under contract with Bucket of Lizards Creative Studios. CONTACT US Still interested?
